As the number of measles contacts rise Auckland Regional Public Health Service (ARPHS), Clinical Director, Dr Julia Peters is advising parents to get their children immunised now.
Canterbury District Health Board’s Community and Public Health Division has identified another six teenagers and children likely to have measles, following confirmation late last week that four Christchurch Boys High School pupils had the disease.
The New Zealand Society of Naturopaths is concerned about the lack of nutrition among New Zealanders which may put them at risk should they contract measles.
Parents are reminded to get their children immunised against measles, or risk having them sent home from school for two weeks if there is a measles outbreak.
