The Regional Cancer Treatment Service at MidCentral District Health Board provides radiation oncology, medical oncology, and clinical haematology services to the District Health Boards that cover the communities of Manawatu, northern Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay, Whanganui, Tairawhiti and Taranaki. This is a combined population of 560,000.

The medical team in the service has a wide range of specialist skills and expertise and includes: * Four other medical oncologists
* Five radiation oncologists
* Four clinical haematologists
* One palliative medicine physician.

Multi-disciplinary case meetings (Tumour Boards) are held locally and regionally.
